The future of global EAF steel
production is with BioCarbon.

Sustainable, manufactured carbon

Pioneering Renewable Carbon Solutions for a Greener Tomorrow

BioCarbon is an Australian company transforming low-value biomass into GreenChar®, a suite of valuable renewable carbon products using advanced manufacturing technologies.

We produce charcoal, pyroligneous acid, bio-oil, and syngas to create solutions tailored for industrial and agricultural applications. By utilising woody agricultural waste, our processes add significant value, substituting fossil carbon in industrial systems and providing sustainable alternatives to synthetic chemicals for regenerative agriculture.

With a commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, BioCarbon is driving progress toward a more sustainable future.

Transforming Steel Manufacturing
and Metals Refining with Renewable
GreenChar
®

BioCarbon’s GreenChar® is a renewable carbon solution designed for Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking and metal ore reduction, playing a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing operational efficiency. By replacing fossil coke with GreenChar®, BioCarbon enables producers to make the transition to a more sustainable process while maintaining high performance. GreenChar® is a manufactured product and can be tailored to match fossil carbon specifications.

Using advanced pyrolysis technologies, BioCarbon converts woody agricultural waste into GreenChar®, providing a renewable carbon source that meets the modern demands of the steel and metals refining industries. This process not only lowers emissions but also optimises furnace operations, contributing to a cleaner and more efficient production process.

Through strategic collaborations with industry leaders, BioCarbon is advancing the global adoption of green steel, working towards a future where renewable carbon is at the core of the steel manufacturing and metals refining industries.
